The Office
Our offices feature a large assortment of paintings by Kendal Hanna who is known as the first Bahamian abstract expressionist. His gestural and visually explosive works are accompanied by a variety of sculptures by Joann Behagg and Jessica Colebrooke as well as books taken from Vincent D’Aguilar’s personal library. In some of the books, you will see where Vincent has used underlining to keep track of what he was reading at the time.
In Saskia’s office is an emotional 3D collage by Sue Katz which confronts the viewer and explores the pain and trauma of racism, bigotry and prejudice in all it’s forms. The heaviness of this work is offset by a bright abstract diptych by Hanna and a painting of women dancing by Jamaican artist Kenhandanna "Kent" Spencer.
In the storage room are works that are part of the permanent collection that are not currently on display and is home to the Roland Rose Archive that the foundation acquired upon Rose’s passing in 2021, including his photographs, negatives and digital files
